8:45am to 1:00pm

In honor of Tu B'Shvat, we will be planting trees with Friends of Trees!
Where to Meet: 10040 NE 6th Dr, Portland, OR 97211; follow Friends of Trees signs as you get closer to the address.
When: Sat, January 20th, 9am – 1pm -- please meet by 8:45am at the staging site listed above. Tree planting activities will start promptly at 9 am and wrap up by 1 pm.
What:  Friends of Trees is excited to partner with Portland OIC, Portland Parks & Recreation, the Columbia Slough Watershed Council, and Friends of the Columbia Children's Arboretum with support from the Port of Portland and East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District to restore a part of one of NE Portland's "hidden gems": the Columbia Children's Arboretum. We will be planting native trees and shrubs and removing invasive species including Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy.
Wear: To ensure that everyone has a safe and fulfilling day, please dress appropriately for the weather and the work. While we provide work gloves (including youth sizes) and tree guidance, we ask that you wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots (for your safety, no sandals of any kind, please!), and rain-ready layers that you don’t mind getting a little dirty! Friends of Trees will provide gloves, tools, planting guidance, and, of course, free breakfast treats and coffee/hot chocolate to get you fueled up!
